28th Annual Community Salute to the Environment

The Community Salute to the Environment, sponsored by CEI, will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2002 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Rochester. This event serves as an opportunity for organizations, businesses, agencies, and individuals to highlight their involvement or support for environmental protection, and to network with others in the Rochester metropolitan region.

The event provides members and friends of CEI the chance to:

  • learn from an expert about the latest developments in the ongoing effort to protect the environment;
  • come together to discuss current environmental issues and network;
  • help celebrate the accomplishments of an individual organization whose work has contributed to significant environmental improvements or protection in the Rochester-Genesee-Finger Lakes region (Hugh E. Cumming Award); and
  • support CEI's free public information services.

This year's guest speaker is Dr. Robert Howarth, who will tell us about the important work he and other scientists are undertaking which demonstrates the dramatic impacts of nitrogen pollution on our coastal ecosystems.

Please call Shirley at the CEI office at 585-262-2870 to make your reservation.
